Stunning authentic Mallorquin Finca. Relax and unwind in this beautiful property set amongst a world heritage site. With large terraces overlooking the mountains to the north and the Mediterranean to the south and the towns of Andratx in the foreground & Puerto in the distance. The setting of Son Viguet is completely private, perfect for families and groups of friends.
In 1973 the current owner and his parents found the ruin after it had been abandoned 50 years earlier during the Spanish Civil War. It took 10 years of painstaking restoration to restore the Finca to its current authentic splendor.
INSIDE this authentically restored farmhouse are 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a fully equipped country kitchen with modern appliances perfect for group cooking (or caterers which can be arranged). Both the living & dining rooms serve as the center of the home and both rooms have open wood fireplaces supplied by ample wood fuel. And of course, there is wi-fi internet access throughout, a Flat Screen with an Apple TV device to watch movies, and a library of English books to choose from. The owner is a prolific reader of classics and contemporary literature.
The formal dining (also the front entrance hall) & living rooms and kitchen are divided by 3-foot thick walls with arched passageways between all three principal rooms.
THE KITCHEN (formerly a grain mill) has vaulted beamed ceilings & still has the original beams. You’ll love the view of the Tramuntana Mountain range and the walkout to a back terrace complete with a small garden and BBQ. The kitchen is fully equipped to accommodate large groups with a big gas stove & oven, dishwasher, two large fridges, coffee machines, blender, toaster, and microwave. There are also two clothes washing machines.
BEDROOMS AND BATHS: In the main house block there are 5 bedrooms – 4 of which are on the second floor serviced by 2 bathrooms: there two 3-piece bathrooms. Two of the upper bedrooms (both with King size beds) face south with spectacular vistas of the Med. The two north-facing bedrooms (towards the mountains) both have washbasins with hot and cold running water. The 5th bedroom (with queen bed) is on the ground floor with a walk-out to the terrace and the four-piece bathroom (ideal for the elderly).
The 6th bedroom with a King bed is a self-contained apartment yet structurally connected to the main house but is only accessible from the pool terrace. This pool apartment has its own brand new modern private 3-piece bathroom, has air conditioning, and enjoys spectacular views to the south. There is a 6th bathroom in the pool apartment for those using the pool area.
The Olive Press Wing is a magnificent (7th) bedroom (the largest) suite with King size bed, air conditioning, and its own 4-piece bathroom ensuite, fireplace, and commanding view of the valley below. It also has its own private living room and a small bedroom (8th) for babies, child or the elderly needing attention.
GARDEN
The gardens of this mountain retreat are the owner’s constant source of pride. The pool is flanked by bougainvilleas, hibiscus plants, and an almond grove. Sitting by the pool with the distant sound of the sheep bells as they climb the amphitheater of hills is sublime. Private hiking trails are accessible right off the pool terrace into the National parkland that surrounds this home. This tranquil location is a rare treat of complete privacy where clothes are optional.

Magical
First international trip post Covid lock down did not disappoint. Son Viguet is just the right amount of secluded with a wonderful view of the port of Andraxt. The rooms, the kitchen, the common areas are “well appointed”….to steal a phrase from a previous review. Highly recommend using the recommended Chefs for Breakfast & Dinner, otherwise you’re spending way too much time prepping and cleaning. Gracias, Merci, THANK YOU! The Brindley’s (San Francisco)
Probably the most amazing finca you will find in Majorca
Son Viguet is magnificent. It is wonderfully appointed with all the amenities you would wish to find - great living rooms, great pool, great kitchen, well stocked equipment, fantastic outdoor space for dining and sitting in the evening, thoughtfully available food, wine and condiments etc as a great welcome which made us all feel completely at home, but most of all Son Viguet has the most spectacular views from the top of the mountain range down over Andratx and Port Andratx to the sea. I promise you, there is not a better view in the whole of Majorca. Hamish the owner and his father before him has transformed this place into one of the finest holiday homes in the Balearics. It’s positioning on top of the range provides the view, but it is only ten mins into Andratx a lively and very Spanish town, and then a further ten minutes to the coast for either wonderful beaches in Pegueras or beautiful marinas and harbours at Port Andratx and Sant Elms. This is truly a wonderful destination. Equally it’s 30 mins by car from Palma and 35 mins from the airport. We had friends popping across from the UK to stay with us at different times of our 16 day stay and it’s no effort at all for them to be accommodated royally in this 7-8 bedroom beautiful finca. The house is very well maintained and looked after, including by Ruth the property manager and Julie the excellent cleaner but the key thing is the detailed aspects of the stay that Hamish the owner has built into everyone’s experience here. Plentiful starting food and drink to tide you over until the supermarket shop, lovely bed linen and towels for all rooms and the pool. Every type of equipment that you’d need to run your own home and this really does feel like your home abroad. I cannot recommend this finca enough to you. We will certainly be looking to book again in the near future. We had a holiday that we will never forget and Hamish and the team made it all happen. Thank you so much. Mike Farrar CBE, FRCP, FRCGP. Heaven
What can I say but wow. Son Viguet is a little piece of Heaven. The property is nice and secluded. There is everything you need out of this property. I could not fault anything. And would book this property in a heartbeat if I need to stay in the area again
Simply perfect
Stunning location, you will not be disappointed. The views alone are worth the price, the rooms building and pool are well kept.
Family holiday
We rented this lovely property for one week with 8 adults and 6 children. It was absolutely perfect. Beautiful house and location. The only downside was that not all bedrooms had airconditioning which was not very clear in the add online.
Stunning location
We loved staying at Son Viguet. A lovely old house with lots of character in the most stunning location with beautiful views over Andratx and Port Andratx. We were very comfortable as a family of 14 (aged 20 - 92). The stone stairs outside were a little challenging for my mother but we coped. The owner gave us lots of excellent advice and we much enjoyed all the recommended local activities and restaurants. Thank you for letting us stay in your fabulous house.
Charming Finca in beautiful location with great set-up
Finca with great history and lovingly restored with excellent outdoor spaces, magnificent views and a short drive to Andratx and the port. High standard throughout and excellent infrastructure inside and out. Looking forward to a next visit.
