Palma is known for having perfect weather, with almost 300 days of bright, uninterrupted sunshine every year. The best time to visit the city if you’re looking for high temperatures is over the summer between June and September, but you’ll still get relatively warm and dry weather if you visit in the shoulder season for tourism outside of this period.
There are plenty of things to do in Palma that can fill any length of holiday itinerary, from shopping to sunbathing and day trips out from the coast to other nearby towns and cities. If you enjoy sightseeing then visit places like the Palma Cathedral and Bellver Castle, whilst those interested in culture will enjoy the Es Baluard Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art.
Spending time on the beach is another very popular activity for those in the city, with lots of different areas of the coast to choose from. Palma is also very well known for its nightlife, so if you like to party then you’re in the right place.
The sprawling size of Palma means that there are plenty of different places to visit within the city across the various neighbourhoods. If you’re looking for fine dining and luxury shopping, the Paseo del Borne or ‘golden mile’ is a street that has lots of designer outlets and high-end restaurants. Casco Antiguo, or Old Town, is the historic centre of the city, whilst La Lonja is a very popular place to visit for tourists.
You’ve also got a range of beaches to visit when you stay in Palma, with options like Ca’n Pere Antoni near the Old Town, the huge Playa de Palma and the quieter Cala Estància.
