About Pollensa

The history of Pollensa can be traced back at least 3000 years and the town itself does feel like it still belongs to a past time with its stone houses, narrow streets and peaceful atmosphere. It’s the ideal place to escape to if you’re after a holiday in Mallorca that doesn’t feel too touristy or if you’re looking to enjoy a slower pace of life in a stunningly beautiful part of the island.

Best Time to Visit

If you're a fan of basking in the sun and enjoying really hot weather, the ideal time to visit Pollensa is between June and September. During these months, temperatures often soar into the high twenties Celsius (high seventies to low eighties Fahrenheit), creating perfect conditions for those who love summer at its peak. Additionally, this period sees very low chances of rain or overcast days, ensuring that your beach days and outdoor adventures are seldom interrupted.

Despite being the peak tourist season, Pollensa retains a relaxed and peaceful ambiance, unlike more crowded tourist hotspots. The town's tranquil streets and beautiful beaches offer a serene escape even during the busiest months. However, if you prefer slightly cooler weather and even fewer crowds, consider visiting in the shoulder seasons — March, April, May, or October. These months offer a delightful balance, with mild temperatures and the natural beauty of the area in full bloom in spring or the rich, warm colours of autumn.

These cooler months are perfect for visitors interested in outdoor activities such as hiking in the nearby Tramuntana Mountains, cycling through rustic countryside, or exploring historical sites without the summer heat. You’ll also enjoy the beginning or end of the cultural festival season, giving you a taste of local traditions without the peak season crowds.

What our guests say

Fantastic home for a fantastic stay. We loved our time here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing time away. Top tips from us - don’t stress about parking, the roads are very narrow and parking isn’t easy so use the car park on the way in to Pollensa. It’s only a 5 minute walk and is very safe. There is a lovely bakery just 2 minute walk away on the main road in and not far from the chemist. Enjoy!

Charming and lovely townhouse in the old part of Pollenca. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. House is really well equipped. ACs in all the rooms meant it was never too hot even in the August. High walls give a lot of privacy and also make the sun more bearable. Pool was lovely. We quickly got used to parking in the side streets around the house, but it is also possible to park slightly outside the town. We used a car to go Puerto Pollenca to get to the fantastic beaches. Their Internet was good enough for video calls for work Communication with the manager was easy and quick. Would clearly recommend and also go back.

"The villa was very well presented, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly well equipped – it even had a tea-pot! The welcome pack was probably the best and most comprehensive I’ve seen!.. Pollenca is a good base if you want to have good access to the coast without being in a coastal resort."

We had a great stay and the communication with Colin was brilliant. The villa is very clean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. The pool area is fantastic and the steps in are great for children. The pool was also really warm considering it’s not heated and the view of the mountains is fantastic. Lovely quiet area but a 25 min walk into the square in Pollenca and 5 min drive to the Port. Lovely area and lots of great restaurants and beaches nearby. We were a family of 8 (7 adults and one child) and would definitely like to return :)
